Exhibitions from three centuries can be viewed on an exhibition space of over 300m2. The exhibition deals with the origins, symbols, rituals and values of freemasonry. It also deals with the charisma of Freemasonry in culture and society. A large projection of 8 x 3m conveys a unique impression of the diversity of the world of Swiss lodges.

The museum, is designed that, together with its permanent and changing exhibition space also provides for events (lectures, seminars, concerts).
As an independent institution, the Freemason Museum Switzerland conveys the origins, history and contents of Freemasonry and gives stimulus for its development.

The Museum represents the tradition of humanity and enlightenment and actively supports the SGLA and its lodges in the external representation of Freemasonry. It contributes to the cultural identity of Swiss Freemasonry and promotes the bond of Masonic solidarity in Switzerland. The museum maintains active contact with national and international, Masonic and non-masonic museums and related institutions (e.g. libraries, charity institutions, educational and research institutions) and contributes actively towards development and understanding (e.g. by means of special exhibitions, lectures, seminars and cultural events).
