The exhibition is based on the research work of Dominique Alain Freymond and Christoph Meister. Staged by Manfred Vollenwyder, numerous original documents can be seen, which come mainly from the archives of the Swiss Grand Lodge \u2018ALPINA\u2019 and the lodges \u2018Modestia Cum Libertate\u2019 (Zurich) and \u2018Zur Brudertreue\u2019 (Aarau). Switzerland is the only country in the world in which Freemasonry was legitimised by a two-thirds majority vote rejecting a popular initiative. Learn more about the background of the anti-Masonic propaganda during the campaign, which took place at a time when fascism was on the rise, and about the activities of the defence committee. The committee fought not only for the survival of Freemasonry in Switzerland, but also for the preservation of democratic values such as freedom of association.<\/p>\n
The special exhibition can be visited during regular opening hours and is included in museum admission.<\/p>\n
